Staff member of the month is Sasha Reyes.  She has proven to be a valuable asset to Southern Tier Meadows. Sasha takes the resident care position seriously and works hard to ensure that all of our residents are well-cared for. Recently a resident had a problem that required an ER visit. The resident was sent home with a diagnosis of a less serious nature, but Sasha, being aware and diligent, called the Administrator and notified her that the situation had not improved and asked if the resident should be sent back to the ER in light of the first visit. The decision was made to send the resident back and this resulted in the discovery of a more serious nature, and the resident was sent to a Buffalo hospital. If it was not for Sasha's diligence the resident could have suffered a serious consequence.  Sasha also takes time to talk to the residents and treats them like a person would wish their family member to be treated. Sasha relates that, "If I keep the residents busy and plan activities for them, then they will have less reasons for negative behavior." Sasha reports that she stays busy giving each resident a certain amount of time each night to talk and relate how they are feeling. Sasha keeps the Administrator informed and updated on resident needs. Sasha gets along well with her peers and keeps everyone informed about the well-being and needs of the residents. Sasha, along with another staff member, recently decorated the house for the Fall Holiday season and did a great job on brightening up the residence. During the time Sasha has been working for us, she has also been working to improve herself by taking educational courses so she could receive her CNA certificate. Sasha has only been with us 6-months, but has done a great job.   Congratulations!
