Kathryn Mackowiak, RC at DTAP is the staff member of the month. On March 6, 2016, Kathryn had realized that she hadn't heard from a resident that typically calls each day. Having an uneasy feeling, Kathryn decided to go over to the apartment with intern, Casey Springer. After knocking with no answer, Kathryn immediately looked in the window and saw the resident lying on the floor unconscious. Kathryn and Casey then broke down the door and called 911. The resident was in serious condition and Star-Flighted to a Buffalo Hospital. Fortunately, the resident recovered and is doing well. Kathryn, realizing the change in typical behavior, went to the apartment to check on the resident and saved her life. The DTA program is very proud of Kathryn's swift response. Thank you and congratulations on a job well done!
