Robert Roth announced the selection of Francine Rondenell and Katheryn Mackowiak as Mental Health First Aid Trainers. Francine and Katheryn will join Stacey Rasmussen, COMPEER Director, for a 40 hour training in November to became certified Mental Health First Aid Trainers. The training will be provided by Mental Health First Aid USA, Inc. Mental Health First Aid classes will teach individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Additionally, the training gives individuals the skills required to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. STEL will offer classes to employees and the community at-large. Francine is the residential manager at Park Ave. CR and Katheryn is a rehabilitation counselor at Dunkirk Apartment program.
