Charmaine Patterson Appointed to Administrator

Charmaine Patterson was selected as the new Administrator for Southern Tier Meadows Adult Care Home in Fredonia, NY. Char been employed with STEL since September 2013 and has held the positions of attendant, assistant administrator, and resident coordinator while employed at Southern Tier Meadows.

We welcome Char to her new role as Administrator and wish her the best of experiences.

Open Enrollment Meeting Dates STEL Health & FSA Plans

Attention: All Full Time Eligible Employees,

Open Enrollment is upon us. Listed below are the dates and times for open enrollment meetings. We encourage ALL eligible staff to attend a session. Representatives from Northwest Insurance will be available to review plan benefits and answer questions .

Open Enrollment is the time when employees may  enroll themselves or dependents on the STEL Health Plan. Furthermore, it's also the time to enroll  or re-enroll in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan. NOTE: FSA accounts do NOT automatically re-new. Existing FSA plan participants are required to re-enroll.

Good News:
  1. The  2018/2019 STEL Health Plan benefits and employee contributions will remain the same as last year.
  2. Additional Wellness Incentives options will be available this plan year giving employees more choices to earn points.
  3. Dental & Vision Plan allowances will increase. Dental benefits will increase from a maximum of $1,000/per year per participant to $1,500/per year per participant. Vision benefits will increase from $100/ per year per participant to $200/ per year per participant.
  4. Opt Out Benefit Bonus will increase from $2,000 to $3,000 per year.

Cindy Baker Appointed to Assistant Residential Manager

We're pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Baker to assistant residential manager for the Prendergast  Community Residence program. Since March 2015 Cindy has served as a rehabilitation counselor at the residence.

The program blends the convenience of classes one night per week with the flexibility of online learning, individuals can complete their associate’s degree in two years. There are three program options beginning in the fall of 2018:  Business Administration, Early Childhood Education and Human Services. Scott Edwards Appointed to Supported Housing Manager

On Monday, February 12th Robert Roth, Assistant Executive Director announced the appointment of Scott Edwards to Supported Housing Manager. Mr. Edwards will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of STEL's supported housing services in Erie, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus Counties. Mr. Edwards began his employment at STEL in October 2009 and most recently served as Assistant Supported Housing Manager since February 2011. Congratulations Scott!

Gina Ward, Appointed to Associate Director, Community Housing & Support Services

On Thursday, January 25th Robert Roth, Assistant Executive Director announced the appointment of Gina Ward to the newly created position of Associate Director, Community Housing & Support Services. Ms. Ward's responsibilities will include the administrative oversight of STEL's supported housing, COMPEER, Work Force Supported Employment, Home and Community Based Community Services (HCBS). Additionally, Ms. Ward will have a major support role in our Health Home Care Management services in Cattaraugus County. Previously, Ms. Ward has served as a Supported Housing Manager since November 2003. Congratulations Gina!

Bring It Home: Better Funding for Better Care

Hi Everyone,

We're encouraging all staff members to participate in ACL's effort to INCREASE FUNDING FOR MENTAL HEALTH IN NEW YORK STATE.

The #BringItHomeNYS campaign on Social Media is an effort to promote this important cause.

Here are two web pages to learn more about this initiative:
Media kits will be distributed to each program/department week. Each kit will contain:
  1. #BringItHome Highlight Sheet (see attached)
  2. #BringItHome Instruction Sheet (see attached)
  3. Two different Bring It Home signs 4 each.

What is STEL asking you to do?
  1. We would like everyone to take individual and/or group pictures and post the picture to your social media accounts like FaceBook, Twitter, and Instagram. 
  2. THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT: Use the highlight sheet for specific #tags, @, and sample wording for posts. 
  3. Forward your pics to me for our media vault. Promote your posting to all your social networking contacts.
Attached you will find samples of the materials that will be included in your media kit. Your media kit materials will be in color.

Linda Howland Appointed to Assistant Residential Manager Wellsville CR/TAP

Linda Howland has been promoted from rehabilitation counselor to assistant residential manager for the Wellslville CR/TAP programs. Ms. Howland recently been rehabilitation counselor with STEL since March 1997. Her service over the last 20 years has been exemplary. Michele Henry states "Ms. Howland is an important part of our team. She has consistently provided high quality services to our consumers and promoted an ideal culture for our rehabilitation services. Additionally, Linda is well liked and respected by her coworkers and managers. We look forward to working with her in her capacity as an Assistant Residential Manager.

Please congratulate Linda on her new position!
